University Housing's computers are on a four-year replacement schedule, so every summer about a quarter of them are replaced. In In Summer 2012, we purchased approximately 70 top-of-the-line new Dells. All computers have Windows 7 installed, with the iMacs offering users a choice between Windows 7 and OS X.
We offer students the most popular software applications along with some required for classes. Some of these applications include:
- Browsers (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera, Google Chrome)
- Design (Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver)
- Math and Statistics (Mathematica, MatLab, R, SAS, SPSS)
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Google Earth, iTunes, Pidgin (IM client), PuTTY, VLC Media Player, and much more.
