The Weston Exploration Student Advisory Council is a newly formed and dynamic student organization that serves as a direct support of the development and promotion of the Weston Exploration Living-Learning Community at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The Student Advisory Council serves a dual purpose on campus: to promote Weston student advocacy and lead as Weston Exploration ambassadors within the campus community.
Student Advocacy
Our Ambassadors are prepared to serve as advocates for Weston Exploration students by:
- Representing the overall voice and climate of students from the Weston Exploration Living Learning Community.
- Providing insights, commendations, and concerns gathered from within the community to facilitate the best overall experience within Weston Exploration.
- Demonstrating active engagement with Weston residents. This is completed through reaching out to residents, soliciting feedback from your neighbors and peers, allowing them to share new ideas as well as positive and critical feedback.
Community Outreach
Weston Exploration Student Ambassadors share the responsibility of serving as ambassadors in the Champaign-Urbana community and beyond. Outreach responsibilities include:
-
Maintaining availability to meet with prospective students. This includes, but is not limited to: sharing experiences from within the hall, discussing the student experience on campus, providing tours of the Exploration Community, and sharing candid conversations with these students.
-
Have the ability to share and discuss Weston Exploration’s resources and positive experiences.
