Learning Outcomes
The Weston Exploration living learning community utilizes a logic model to both plan and evaluate our programmatic and operational aspects of our community. Our learning outcomes are broken down into short term, intermediate and long term outcomes.
Short term outcomes

Students who feel comfortable engaging with other students who are exploring academic majors or career options

Increased comfort level in interacting with faculty and professional staff

Students who are supported when being undecided about an academic major and career choice

Increased knowledge of the myriad academic majors and career opportunities

Increased understanding of the importance in acquiring a broad range of social, personal, professional, and leadership skills needed to succeed in a global job market

Acquisition of self-assessment skills necessary to understand one’s interests, values, attitudes, motivations, and passions

Acquisition of job seeking and marketing skills (e.g., resume writing, interviewing and leadership skills)
Intermediate Outcomes

Increased number of stable, reliable and meaningful connections between students and faculty that lead students to their major or career fields of interest.

Increased number of students choosing majors/careers that are congruent with their studies, interests and abilities prior to their 5th semester

Higher retention and graduate rate of Weston Exploration students

Prevention of students being placed on academic probation

Increased contact and engagement of Weston Exploration alumni in Weston Exploration activities (e.g., mentorship program)
Long term Outcomes

Weston Exploration students will graduate with a positive and solid foundation for discovering their academic major and securing career fields.
