Lab Tips

Be safe

Do not share your passwords with anyone. Doing so puts you and your personal information at risk.

Never leave your belongings unattended. Theft is one of the most common crimes committed on campus.

Beware of phishing attempts to steal your personal information.

Always log out or lock your computer if you need to leave, even if just for a moment.

Work wisely

Save your files early and often. It will save you a lot of hurt if things go awry. Personal files are only temporarily stored on lab machines. You may use external storage devices or campus-provided cloud storage to keep your files.

Restarting the computer before you use it resets it to a standard configuration that helps keep your lab experience consistent—useful for when you have important projects!

Ask for help

Don't be afraid to ask a PCC for assistance! Look for the flag during lab hours.
