Be an I-Guide
Our tradition of serving the campus began in 1947, and the Illini Guide (I-Guide) program is one of the longest-lasting student-run organizations at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. We need VOLUNTEERS like you to help keep the tradition going. We hope you will be as excited about being an I-Guide as other Illinois students have been for more than 70 years!
Thousands of new students join our community for the first time each year. Serving as an I-Guide is a great opportunity to introduce students and their families to campus and make a real impact. I-Guides wearing orange shirts are an integral part of Move-In day, helping new students and their families move in and transition to campus life.

However, as an additional incentive, I-Guides that work both days may move in on August 19 beginning at noon. If an I-Guide that works both days moves in on August 19, they are not eligible for the $20 Illini Cash or the $25 Illini Union Bookstore gift card. If an I-Guide moves in but does not work on both days, they will be partially responsible for the $40 early arrival fee. There are no meals offered in the dining halls on August 19.
Be a I-Guide Hall Coordinator
Each hall has one to two Hall Coordinators who provide leadership and direction for a specific residence hall during move-in. They participate in a Leadership Training Retreat, recruit I-Guides, facilitate meetings, and meet with the Residence Hall Director and the I-Guide Campus Coordinator Committee. The Hall Coordinator position is a great way to get leadership training and experience. You will meet a lot of people and have the chance to really make a difference.
If you have questions about the Hall Coordinator position, email us at email@example.com.
I-Guide Campus Coordinator (IGCC)
IGCC members are a team of 8-10 students responsible for coordinating the I-Guide program and some of the details related to Fall Move-In. They work with the I-Guide advisors to plan training, assist with recruiting efforts, assist with coordinating and implementing the move-in plan, provide oversight for I-Guide Hall Coordinators, and lead a specific area of campus on opening day by trouble-shooting and supporting I-Guide Hall Coordinators and I-Guides.
