Beckwith Support Services Rooms 

Bed

  • Medical bed with side rails (detachable), height adjustability 18”-32” floor to top of mattress, head and foot articulation. 
  • Overall 80”l x 38”w 
  • Mattress-standard student room style mattress 74”l x 35”w x 7” thick (standard twin)

Wardrobe (no closet)

  • 42”w x 24”d 79”h  
  • Top has 2 doors that pull out and roll back into cabinet 
  • Inner shelf hangs from top 33”w x 21.5”d x 10.75” h; closet rod hangs from shelf  32” of hanging length
  • Bottom has 4 drawers-top two (side by side) 18”w x 20”d x 5”h, bottom 2 are 38”w x 20”d x 5”h

Bookcase

  • 28”w x 18”d x 39”h  with 3 adjustable shelves 16.5”d
  • Can be set at 4” increments

Nightstand

  • 21”w x 23”d x 34”h
  • Can be lowered on rungs to heights of 26.5” or 31.5” 
  • Has 1 drawer 16”w x 17”d x 3.5”h and one shelf 17.5”w x 20”d x 9”h

Desk

  • 55”w x 24”d x 32” or 29”h 
  • Height is adjustable on gas lift set with thumb screws
  • Height-adjustable top shelf can be lowered in 2” increments 55”w x 10.5”d, currently set 14” from top of desk. 
  • Lower box is attached to bottom of desk for extra books or CPU. 7.5”w x 9.5”d x 11”h

Standard student room chairs are available upon request, but will be placed in the 2nd floor ADA rooms.

Standard Student Rooms (Not Part of Beckwith/ADA)

Student room furniture in rooms that are not part of the Beckwith/ADA program are steel construction with solid-wood drawer fronts and tops.

A double room has two beds, two desks, two chairs, two closets, two chests of drawers, two bookcases, two pedestal cabinets, and two hanging bed shelves (one set for each student).

Desk

  • 30" w x 23-1/4" d x 30" h (no light)
  • Attached top shelf is 28" w x 10-1/4" d; can be adjusted but is normally set at 15" above desk top
  • Attached bottom shelf is 25-1/2" w x 10-1/2" d; sits 10" below bottom of desk (cannot be adjusted)
  • Desk drawer inside is 22-1/2" w x 18" d x 2-3/4" h; front is curved to support keyboard use

Three-drawer chest

  • 28" w x 23-1/2" d x 30" h
  • Top drawer inside is 22-1/2" w x 17-1/4" d x 5-3/4" h; front is 6-1/4" and can be padlocked
  • Middle and bottom drawer inside (each) is 22-1/2" w x 17-1/4" d x 5-3/4" h; fronts are 9-1/2" h

Pedestal cabinet

  • 19-1/4" w x 23-1/4" d x 30" h (planned for placement next to desk to provide more work area)
  • Top and middle drawer inside (each) is 14-1/2" w x 17-1/4" d x 5-3/4"  h; front is 7-1/4" h
  • Bottom drawer inside is 14-3/4" w x 17-1/4" d x 9-1/2" h; front is 11" h (allows for hanging file folders)

Bookshelf

  • 28-3/4" w x 11" d x 27-3/4" h (for safe stacking, chest has divots on top to place feet of other bookshelf unit)
  • Middle shelf is 27" w x 8-3/4" d x 10-3/4" h
  • Bottom shelf is 27" w x 10-1/4" d x 12-1/4" h

Hanging bed shelf

  • 29" w overall; 21-3/4" between brackets x 10" d

Bed

  • Bed is typically set as mid loft 38" from top of mattress to floor, but can be adjusted in 2" increments up to 78" h (with use of loft kit) See instructions: How to Loft | How to Change the Bed Height (pdf)
  • Mattresses are twin, extra-long, 6" thick with dual firmness levels (firm or extra firm, depending on which side is up)
