Busey-Evans Hall Groups
Connect With Your Community
Interested in joining a hall group? Start with your resident advisor, resident director, program coordinator, multicultural advocate, front desk, or other hall staff to find out how to join.
Busey-Evans groups include Mariama, Busey-Evans Hall Council, and Women on a Mission.
Busey-Evans Hall Council is a group designed to provide residents with a great leadership opportunity to aid in funding hall-wide programs that help build community! These programs include RA/MA events and initiatives, as well as events planned by residents for residents! We meet Mondays at 8:30 p.m. in the basement MPR.
Mariama is the Black Student Union (BSU) housed in Busey-Evans. Our purpose is to come together in an effort to promote a genuine and positive image of African-American and other minority students in Busey-Evans. We gather once a week to discuss and dissect the issues and news that make up the Busey-Evans community and our campus. All residents (and sometimes, even non-residents!) are welcome to attend the meetings and events sponsored by Mariama. Meetings will be held every Thursday at 8:00 p.m. in Evans Lounge.
Women on a Mission is a new group in Busey-Evans this year and we can't wait to introduce you to it! This group's goal is to empower the women of Busey-Evans by providing an outlet for discussion and events on various topics that affect modern women. Meetings will be held every other Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in Evans Lounge.
The Housing-wide Queer Housing Coalition is another group residents can join.
