All University Housing residence halls feature on-campus locations, convenient services in the hall, and professional staff. Living on campus also means that you will be able to use your meal plan in any University Housing dining hall. Your choice to live with us means you will be in the middle of it all: the Illinois experience starts here.
As you complete your University Housing application, you will be asked for your preferences. You can also note your preference for a non-visitation community (four rooms in Evans), a substance-free hall (Snyder), or the new Scholars Community (two floors in LAR).
Here are some unique opportunities to make the most of your time on campus.
University Housing's nine Living-Learning Communities are located in residence halls across campus. Ikenberry Commons North
No matter which hall you select, you can dine in any of University Housing's residence hall dining rooms. University Housing's newest dining halls are located in the Pennsylvania Avenue Residence Halls (PAR) and the Ikenberry Commons areas. The PAR and Ikenberry dining halls feature multiple cuisine stations, each highlighting a different specialty. Your choices are prepared exactly to your specifications at every meal. The Florida Avenue Residence Halls (FAR) are directly across the street from PAR, and offer an air-conditioned option.
All rooms in the undergraduate residence halls are fully furnished, and you can even tell us how you would like your furniture arranged before you arrive. All halls feature lounges, computer labs, residence hall libraries (either in the hall or the complex), high-speed internet access, laundry facilities, vending options, and large-screen TVs.
Our Ikenberry Commons area is currently undergoing construction to bring more amenities and services to students. You can learn more about the projects here. Residents of Ikenberry Commons may encounter some construction-related fencing and noise during work hours. We try our best to keep distractions to a minimum.
First-year students can also choose to live in a Private Certified Housing facility.
