Your Illinois Experience Starts Here

As you begin to imagine your first year in college, you’re probably thinking about what you might major in, what your classes will be like, what people you’ll meet.

Now you can start to imagine the place you’ll be calling home.

As a first-year student, you’re required to live in residences certified by the University. And with University Housing, you’ll have plenty of choices. Our 22 residence halls offer a range of lifestyle, architectural, and geographical options, so you’re sure to find the place that fits you. That’s why more than 8,000 undergraduates each year choose University Housing as their home for the Illinois Experience.

Once you’re admitted to the University, you’ll receive information from the Office of Admissions, which includes information on how to apply for housing. For now, take a moment to get to know us. See how life in the residence halls is about the total experience: the friends you’ll meet, the groups you’ll lead, the connections you’ll make. From the day you move in, this is where it all starts.
