Emergency Information

For emergencies, dial 911 (9-911 from a campus phone).

We encourage you to subscribe to the University of Illinois emergency alert system. In the event of a campus-wide emergency, the University Housing website will display emergency information provided by the campus.

For maintenance issues requiring immediate attention, please contact your area desk (residence halls) or complete a request online. For after-hours emergencies on nights and weekends, apartment residents can call (217) 333-2779.

The University of Illinois Emergency Dean provides services to students and their families in crisis situations.

Residents of undergraduate residence halls and Daniels and Sherman Halls provide University Housing with an emergency contact name and phone number at the beginning of the school year. This number is not shared with any agency outside the University and it is separate from the University of Illinois emergency alert system. Residents may update their emergency contact name and phone number by logging in to MyHousing.

Students living in University Housing also have the opportunity to provide the University a unique emergency contact that would be used if the student is determined missing by the University Police. If you choose to provide this information; follow this link https://apps.uillinois.edu/, click on Student & Faculty Self-Service Page, and then click on University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. This link will take you to the Banner Self-Service page where you can complete the Personal Information section.

Information on University Housing's Campus Fire Safety Annual Compliance Report is available in pdf form.
Information on security measures in residence halls is available.
