Kosher Meals and Passover Options

Kosher meals are served in Allen Dining Room, 1005 W. Gregory, Urbana, every Monday-Thursday from 5 to 6 p.m.

In addition, kosher meals are served in selected hall dining rooms during Passover. All dining halls will offer a variety of traditional Passover food items to assist with the observance of this holiday. Choices include matzo ball soup, matzo crackers, grape juice, desserts, and other Passover food items. The campus Hillel Foundation also serves kosher dinner meals Monday–Friday.

During the eight days of Passover, lunch and dinner meals are served at the Hillel Foundation. If a resident chooses to take kosher meals at the Hillel Foundation on Fridays or during Passover and would like a meal credit, the resident must:

  • Email housing@illinois.edu with his/her name and hall address.
  • Inform Housing of his/her choice and indicate which meals s/he will not eat.

Housing will credit the student the food cost for the missed meals. The food cost credit is $1.20 per breakfast, $1.85 per lunch, and $2.75 per dinner. The credit will be posted to the student's University account and appear on the next Student Account Receivable (SAR) statement.
