Orchard Downs Pre-School

Orchard Downs Pre-School offers activities to enhance the social, emotional, physical, and mental growth of pre-school children. Set in Orchard Downs with its unique blending of social and cultural backgrounds, the school provides a stimulating environment for the individual growth of each child.

Orchard Downs Pre-School is a part of Family & Graduate Housing and follows the University calendar.

We offer a half-day program from 9 a.m. to noon, and a full-day program from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Classes operate when the University is in session.

The Pre-School is open to children ages 3-5 years old who are toilet trained. New students are welcome to enroll at any time. The Pre-School is a license-exempt program by the State of Illinois under the Child Care Act of 1969. You are welcome to download our informational brochure (pdf).

We also offer the Jr. Club Program for children enrolled in the Orchard Downs Pre-School. Jr. Club offers extended hours from 3pm to 5:30pm. Class size is limited and registration is on a first come, first served basis.

Registration

To register your child, call (217) 333-3497 or contact Family & Graduate Housing at (217) 333-5656. All registration and health forms must be completed before children may attend. The application may also be submitted in person to the Family & Graduate Housing office or to the Pre-School directly.
