Alma R. Sealine

Alma R. Sealine was named Director of University Housing at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in July 2013, after having served as Director of Housing at Case Western Reserve University since March 2006. 

Sealine served in various positions at Case Western. She acted as Assistant Director of Residence Life, Assistant Director of Campus Living, and most recently as Director of Housing, where she was responsible for the operation of 46 residential buildings and the housing of 3,700 students. 

An active member of the Association of College and University Housing Officers-International (ACUHO-I), Sealine was president in 2011-2012. In 2013 she received the ACUHO-I James C. Grimm Award for Leadership and Service for her outstanding dedication and leadership within the organization. Additionally, she was a faculty member for the National Housing Training Institute and the South African Housing Training Institute of Stellenbosch University in South Africa. 

Sealine holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Sociology from William Jewell College and a master’s degree in College Student Personnel Administration from Indiana University-Bloomington. 
 
As Director of University Housing, Sealine is responsible for leading, planning, and directing the complete operations of the unit, a self-supporting auxiliary enterprise within the Division of Student Affairs. University Housing serves more than 10,000 undergraduate students and graduate students and their families in 25 residence halls and 1,150 on-campus apartments. Working with academic affairs and the faculty, Housing offers living-learning communities and many other programs that create unique learning environments in the residence halls and apartments. University Housing also meets the dining needs of Housing residents as well as serving as the primary catering operation on campus.
